Measure to gain control

We believe that an improvement cannot be demonstrated without fully understanding what is happening at the outset. This is why we start by mapping and measuring existing processes, people and performance.

We will enhance existing dashboards or implement new ones, devise and strengthen analytics and reporting where required to help quantify and track the change activity - giving you an understanding of both your success stories and failing areas.

We help clients to establish targets and coach staff to spot trends and devise methods for dealing with issues before they get out of hand. Examples of our work are 'activity mapping' at RBS, and dashboards for EDS, HP and Wipro.

From scratch

We're used to setting up new companies, subsidiaries or off-shoots. We build standardised processes and implement best practice, devise training programmes and critical path plans. For example, we designed and built a telephone booking centre for what was then Lunn Poly. We helped Direct Valuations establish a professional IT department with service level agreements, housekeeping processes and security. Peter was involved in the establishment and subsequent expansion of a 'Project Support Office' at EDS.

The stand-ins

We've taken on numerous interim-management style roles to cover for leave, shortage or see an organisation through a difficult period (major redundancy programme for instance where the 'business-as-usual' conditions were challenging and the consequences not thought through)

Improvement self-sufficiency

From day 1, our goal is to develop your own staff to be advocates of change. We provide systematic coaching to appropriate individuals to allow you to take your business forward alone. At the appropriate time, Aruba step back and maintain an arms-length relationship, offering ongoing coaching and advice to your 'change agents'. Peter is engaged in a project doing just this right now at RBS and did similar work for the Image and Print Division of HP out in Barcelona, and the same for ADM, an 'oil-from-grain' manufacturer in The Netherlands. We have a wealth of relevant training material on all aspects of business improvement, team building and problem solving, and we’re ready to customise every experience to suit the prevailing conditions.

Strategic thinking

We add a great deal of value as a sounding board to executives in organisations large and small. Whether this is through detailed boardroom strategy planning or mulling over ideas over a coffee we are highly adept at nurturing ideas, exploring possibilities and offering advice; either as a recognisable entity within your organisation or as a silent partner.

Straightening things out

Sometimes clients cannot see the wood for the trees. Over the years we've helped organisations to focus on the projects and activities that deliver the most value, to rationalise, to assign resources to the most beneficial tasks and prepared plans and crib sheets for clients preparing to make difficult decisions.

The face off

On occasion we've had to sit in front of unions to front controversial but necessary proposals; to present plans for off-shoring of work and/or changes to working practices and payment systems.
